The Local Education Authority (Gloucestershire County Council) provides a Nursery Education Grant. This is available for children in the term after they become 3 years old. The scheme currently covers 38 weeks per year. All childcare providers have the right to claim the Nursery Education Grant. Parents cannot choose which provider gets the grant. Children eligible for funding can claim up to 15 hours per week for a maximum of 38 weeks each academic year (1 x 14 week term and 2 x 12 week terms). 1st January and 31st March | The start of Terms 5 & 6 (Summer Term, usually in April) following their 3rd birthday until statutory school age. |
1st April and 31st August | The start of Terms 1 & 2 (Autumn Term, usually in September) following their 3rd birthday until statutory school age. |
1st September and 31st December | The start of Terms 3 & 4 (Spring Term, usually in January) following their 3rd birthday until statutory school age. |
